Khachapuri & Wine on Solyanka — a space on several levels, each with its own character and its own mood.

Khachapuri & Wine is Georgian food, and we wanted to read the Georgian code in a contemporary way — subtly, not head-on. There are no references here to a tavern or a classic Georgian restaurant: this is an urban café. The interior works with the brand’s colours and with textures native to Georgian culture.

The Georgian cross became the screens that divide the room into bays. An ornament from a Georgian book became a panel on mirror. The “necklace” — a decorative piece made of metal pins — recalls Georgian jewellery. On the wall is a mural inspired by the work of a Georgian artist.

Brick, arched windows the full height of the room, an open kitchen with an oven. The tables are single stone slabs, and above the kitchen, running the length of the room, stand sculptures of charred wood made to order: abstract forms set in a row.
