ROZA QUEST

You set off on a road trip to Los Angeles without ever leaving Roza Khutor. Vintage road signs and neon lettering build the mood of the highway, and you can charge your phone at a gas pump while taking the kind of selfie that will have everyone asking — so where on earth have you got to?

We wanted the pavilion to be visible from a distance even in falling snow, and to promise warmth before you step inside. Hence the whole kit: a flat roof with a deep overhang, bulbs along the fascia, a pink band around the perimeter, a shield sign on a bracket and a yellow arrow of light bulbs.

Inside we kept the panoramic glazing — so that the mountains are always in view, and they pull at you just the same, wherever you have got to.
