MEAT CREW

Meat Crew — a meat restaurant whose main object is the smoker.

The same principles are at work here as in our other projects: minimal decoration, the space’s own texture left untouched and pushed as far as it will go, a few added elements, work with light, and sound zoning.

We wanted to give the interior simplicity, so that it would not be read as something complicated. Hence the galvanised corrugated sheet on the walls, the glass block in the partitions and the perforated metal between the tables: plain materials that behave differently in different light. Red paints the beams across the concrete ceiling, the window reveals and the rail the door slides on — the only colour in the room.

The atmosphere is that of a warm American grill café.
